New every morning #2

Last week my blog posts focused on the times when life is difficult and stressful. But in contrast, this week, I will focus on bible verses we can read to encourage and inspire you when you’re going through some tough times – they will lift your spirits and help you gain a new perspective on a tough situation.

The bible contains many instances where it encourages us to be strong and courageous even when we’re going through some difficult times. I’m going to share some verses this week that you may find helpful to use in your morning devotions as when we start our day feeling hopefully and inspired by God, it will help us to be more positive in our interactions with others during the day. Remember, all things are possible when we trust God, because His mercies are new every morning.

The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalm 27:1 (NIV)

Positive words aren’t they? Words to remind us that we need fear nothing in life because when God is at the centre of all we do, He will be give us strength when our strength is exhausted.

We need fear nothing when we trust in God.

Jesus, you give me hope,
And Jesus, you give me strength to carry.
For Jesus, you're my one true friend.
Lord Jesus, you're my strength alone.
