I think it’s fair to say, we’d all like to live healthy, happy and successful lives. That’s probably why, even although we know being a Christian doesn’t mean we are guaranteed a happy, healthy or successful life, we can sometimes become discouraged when life is hard, and the plans we thought God had for us either don’t seem to be coming to fruition or don’t seem to be good for us.
It’s at times like these that we need to take a step back from what we’re facing, and feeling, and remind ourselves of God’s promises to us.
So in a series of posts I will share some verses from scripture which I hope will you will find helpful as they aim to remind us that God plans to provide for our welfare, our future, and give us hope.
In this first in this series, I want to share a reminder of God’s plan for our welfare, by providing our daily needs.
Therefore, do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.Matthew 6:31-33 (NIV)
Because of Christ, God has given us everything we need in life, and will continue to provide for us until the day we see him face to face.
Even if you do find yourself going through difficult times, God still has a plan for you. Remember that because of Jesus, God has provided a way for us to live the life he created us to live, to glorify and honour Him forever – I believe that is a good plan for us.
