Earlier today on Bellshill Salvation Army Band’s Facebook page I shared some devotions. I’d like to share those devotions with you tonight.
I’m not a morning person – I never have been and I don’t think I ever will be! I like peace and quiet when I get up in the morning, time to awake up, get my mind in gear, and get set for whatever the day ahead will bring. I’m sure some of you may be able to relate to my dislike of mornings, and my like of quietness when I wake up.
God also likes us to have quiet time. He asks that we make time to spend quiet time with Him in a place where we have no distractions, so we can focus fully on Him.
Here’s what I want you to do: Find a quiet, secluded place so you won’t be tempted to role-play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense his grace.
Matthew 6:6 (The Message)
When we spend time in quietness with God, we can pray from the depth of our heart, from our innermost being. These are precious moments with God, so make sure you always set aside quiet time with God no matter where you are or how busy your day may be, as your day will not be the same if you don’t put aside time with God.
In this quiet moment, still, before your throne, Conscious of your presence, knowing I am known, In this quiet moment, set my spirit free, In this quiet moment, make a better me.
