Encourager

Earlier today on Bellshill Salvation Army Band’s Facebook page I shared some devotions. I’d like to share those devotions with you tonight.

Build up hope so you’ll all be together in this, no one left out, no one left behind. I know you’re already doing this; just keep on doing it.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 (The Message)

No matter what age we are, or who we are, we all need encouragement sometimes. It is important for our mental health and overall well-being as it can give us just the same amount of joy when we encourage others as we receive when others encourage us.

It can be difficult at times when we change something in our life, big or small, if we get no positive feedback or encouragement from anyone. It can be discouraging, making you want to give up or abandon the goals you may have set yourself. The good news is, because God created us, He understands we may be disheartened. He therefore provided many bible verses in which he tells us how important it is to to encourage others.

Imagine how much we could change the lives of those whose paths we cross, if instead of looking for one another’s faults, we encourage each other. What a wonderful world that would be!

And never let ugly or hateful words come from your mouth, but instead let your words become beautiful gifts that encourage others; do this by speaking words of grace to help them.

Ephesians 4:29 (The Passion Translation)
