Self doubt

Earlier today on Bellshill Salvation Army Band’s Facebook page I shared some devotions. I’d like to share those devotions with you tonight.

For those of you who know we personally, you may recognise part of my thoughts and the music today, as I shared them on my personal Facebook page last week.

In the last week, I’ve been aware of many who are in need of encouragement because they may be doubting themselves, or doubting God.

If you’re doubting yourself, or think you’re not good enough, ‘You Say’ by Lauren Daigle is a great reminder that God knows you are good enough, and encourages us to believe in Him.

I keep fighting voices in my mind that say I’m not enough
Every single lie that tells me I will never measure up
Am I more than just the sum of every high and every low
Remind me once again just who I am, because I need to know

You say I am loved
When I can’t feel a thing
You say I am strong
When I think I am weak
You say I am held
When I am falling short
When I don’t belong
You say I am Yours
And I believe
I believe
What You say of me
I believe

The only thing that matters now is everything You think of me
In You I find my worth, in You I find my identity

You say I am loved
When I can’t feel a thing
You say I am strong
When I think I am weak
You say I am held
When I am falling short
When I don’t belong
You say I am Yours
And I believe
I believe
What You say of me
I believe

Taking all I have and now I’m laying it at Your feet
You have every failure, God, and You’ll have every victory

You say I am loved
When I can’t feel a thing
You say I am strong
When I think I am weak
You say I am held
When I am falling short
When I don’t belong
You say I am Yours
And I believe
I believe
What You say of me
I believe

Oh, I believe
Yes, I believe
What You say of me
Oh, I believe

Don’t be anxious about things; instead, pray. Pray about everything. He longs to hear your requests, so talk to God about your needs and be thankful for what has come. And know that the peace of God (a peace that is beyond any and all of our human understanding) will stand watch over your hearts and minds in Jesus, the Anointed One.
