Greatest thing

Earlier today on Bellshill Salvation Army Band’s Facebook page I shared some devotions. I’d like to share those devotions with you tonight.

Who or what, is the greatest thing in your life?

Take a few moments to consider your answer.

I’m sure you’ve thought of lots of things, maybe the day you met your partner, the day you became a parent or a grandparent for the first time, or maybe it’s the day you graduated from university or when you got your dream job, or maybe something else.

Do you consider the day you gave your heart to God, the greatest thing that you have ever done?

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Romans 12:1-2 (NIV)

I cannot imagine just how different my life would have been if I hadn’t given my heart to God many years ago. However I do know that if I hadn’t put my trust in God during the challenging times in my life, my life would have turned out so very differently.

Knowing God, is defining the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. I pray you too may experience the greatness of God’s love for you.
