Progress v perfection

As a perfectionist I always want to achieve perfection, even when I’m not entirely sure how to do whatever task I am undertaking. However I recognised a while ago that sometimes I need to lower the expectations I have of my left so that I delay myself and others making progress with our work assignments.

Being a perfectionist can be challenging, as it can be hard work constantly trying to achieve perfection, while constantly trying to balance that requirement for perfection against the resource and time limitations required to do things in the best possible way.

With the pressures of too much work and not enough resources to do that work, it’s constantly a requirement to try to balance progress against making sure things are done 100% perfectly.

The joys of being a perfectionist.
