Earlier today on Bellshill Salvation Army Band’s Facebook page I shared some devotions. I’d like to share those devotions with you tonight.
After our break over summer, it’s time for our band practices to restart again tonight. It’s also time for our #WednesdayDevotions to restart! We hope you find blessing and challenge in the devotions we will share each Wednesday.
We hope you have had a fantastic summer, and managed to get some time to relax and make the most of some of the great weather we’ve enjoyed over the last couple of months.
In the last few weeks I’ve found myself thinking about our summer break from band practices, and that our music practices are restarting…but what about our spiritual life, are we ready and willing to renew our relationship with God once again? Whatever may lie ahead for each one of us, I pray that we may each be willing and ready to do whatever God asks of us in these coming days even if God is asking us to do something we don’t feel we are ready to say ‘Yes’ to.
The words of the the song ‘Lord, I Come To You’ have been particularly on my mind as I have thought about the renewing of my relationship with God. They have reminded me that despite my faults and weaknesses, God can use me. He will equip me with the tools and resources I need to do all He asks of me.
I pray that you will take time today to renew your relationship with God, so that whatever He asks of you you are will to say ‘Yes’ to Him because you have prayed these words.
Lord, I come to You, Let my heart be changed, renewed, Flowing from the grace, That I found in You Lord, I've come to know, The weaknesses I see in me, Will be stripped away, By the power of Your love Hold me close, Let Your love surround me Bring me near, Draw me to Your side And as I wait, I'll rise up like the eagle And I will soar with You, Your Spirit leads me on In the power of Your Love Lord unveil my eyes, Let me see You face to face The knowledge of Your love, As You live in me Lord renew my mind, As Your will unfolds in my life In living every day, In the power of Your Love
