Earlier today on Bellshill Salvation Army Band’s Facebook page I shared some devotions. I’d like to share those devotions with you tonight.
When we feel anxious or worried, God knows and understands, even if we don’t take our worries to Him in prayer.
Since God cares for you, let Him carry all your burdens and worries.
1 Peter 5:7 (The Voice)
No matter what you may be anxious about, to what you may be facing, remember God loves you. Give all your anxieties, all your cares to Him and leave them there, because God will provide all your need to get though those difficult circumstances.
Music has the unique ability to reach people from different backgrounds, cultures, and faiths. It is the language of the soul and has can touch the hearts of of all, bringing them together at times of joy and sorrow, to calm the soul and stir emotions. When Colonel Edward Joy wrote the following song, based on 1 Peter 5:7, he created a song which stirs our emotions while reminding us to bring all our anxieties to Jesus so that we can find peace when we leave them with Him.
Is there a heart o'erbound by sorrow? Is there a life weighed down by care? Come to the cross, each burden bearing, All your anxiety, leave it there. All your anxiety, all your care, Bring to the mercy seat, leave it there, Never a burden He cannot bear, Never a friend like Jesus. No other friend so keen to help you; No other friend so quick to hear; No other place to leave your burden; No other one to hear your prayer. Come, then, at once; delay no longer; Heed His entreaty, kind and sweet; You need not fear a disappointment; You shall find peace at the mercy seat.
