Earlier today on Bellshill Salvation Army Band’s Facebook page I shared some devotions. I’d like to share those devotions with you tonight.
Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.
Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV)
They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
If I were to ask you what your favourite hymn is, I suspect many would say, ‘Great Is Thy Faithfulness’. Thomas Obediah Chisholm was inspired by the above verses in Lamentations, to write the words of this hymn. He shared the words he had written with his friend, William Runyan, and Runyan then wrote the musical setting.
As you listen to a beautiful arrangement of ‘Great Is Thy Faithfulness’, I hope that regardless of where you are in your Christian faith and your current circumstances, you find hope and reassurance that God will always love you, and be there for you. I hope you are blessed as you listen to Brindley Venables and Derek Lance playing this beautiful cornet duet, accompanied on piano by Dorothy Gates.
