First thing to say about this last week at work is, did I really just work 3 days this week?!
Yes, I was using the last of my 2022 annual leave on Monday and Tuesday of this last week, so was only working from Wednesday through to end of Friday. However there seemed was so much to do, and so many meetings to attend in those 3 days that it has honestly felt like a full 5 day working week!
There never seems to be enough hours in the day to get all the things done that I need to do in a working day, but as always, I do my best, which ultimately is all that can be asked of any of us.
We could definitely do with more development resources to allow us to make a dent on the huge backlog of work we have – Although we are constantly completing outstanding work, there always seems to be just as many new items being added to the backlog. That said we shouldn’t complain about that, as if we have no outstanding work, the working day would be boring, and our jobs would surely be even more at risk.
So busy is good, as the time doesn’t drag by, though a little more time to actually work on outstanding tasks would be beneficial, but to be honest, I doubt that’ll happen anytime soon. So as I look back on this last week, and consider next week, my heart sinks at the thought of working 5 full days, as they’ll be be long, they’ll be hectic, they’ll be full of meetings, but then I remind myself that I am grateful to have a job!
This has been another 3 day week at work again this week. Again, just like last week it felt longer as I worked Monday and Tuesday, then was off on Wednesday and Thursday and then worked Friday. It’s felt again that it was two weeks rolled into one, as I had a ‘weekend’ in the middle of the week again!
