Comfort

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (NIV)

‘The God of love my Shepherd is’, a paraphrase of Psalm 23 by the English poet George Herbert (1593-1632) to the tune ‘University’, forms the basis of a well known Salvation Army meditation. The music is linked by various parts of the melody of the hymn tune ‘University’. They reflect the moods of the psalm imagery.
