Earlier today on Bellshill Salvation Army Band’s Facebook page I shared some devotions. I’d like to share those devotions with you tonight.
When you face stormy seas I will be there with you with endurance and calm;
Isaiah 43:2 (The Voice)
you will not be engulfed in raging rivers.
If it seems like you’re walking through fire with flames licking at your limbs,
keep going; you won’t be burned.
What great words of reassurance we find in Isaiah, that no matter what storms we face in life, we are never alone, because God is always there with us.
When all is going well in our lives, the thought of having to cope with any difficulties may well be something we ever think about. However when storms come into our lives we can often suffer from fear and self-doubt, because we focus solely on our current circumstances, and don’t consider what tomorrow may bring.
Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.
Matthew 6:34 (The Message)
The above verse found in Matthew reminds us that it’s what we do in the present time that will influence how we deal with or respond to circumstances we may face tomorrow. When we’re in the middle of a storm in our life, it can feel as if the storm will never pass. However God is working in our lives every day, so even when we’re struggling, have faith in God because he will help us deal with those difficult times, and get through those storms.
