While watching a TV programme recently, one of the characters in the programme said the following quote
What’s on a person’s face is not always what’s in their heart
Young Sheldon
It kind of caught my attention, probably because I’m conscious that for many of us, when we’re in ‘public’ we ‘put on our public face’ to tell everyone that life is great and that we are fine, even if in reality, that couldn’t be further from the truth.
What particularly drew my attention to this quote in the programme was the response get, after that statement was made.
Sheldon replies, “Well, this changes everything. How do you know who to trust?”
and Meemaw answers, “You don’t. That’s what makes life interesting.”

I guess what we’re reminded of by this conversation is that by looking at how people go about their day, how they speak to us, and interact with us, doesn’t actually tell us how they are really feeling.
We can all become great actors when it comes to covering up our true feelings. We therefore must have real conversations with one another, not just superficial ones. so we can truly get to know and understand how someone is really feeling; what anxieties, worries and challenges they may be facing which we’ll never know about unless we really talk with them.
