The Sunday night countdown

Sunday evenings have their own personality, don’t they? Half weekend, half Monday‑eve, and fully committed to making us wonder where the weekend went!

This week I’m extra tired (see my blog post from Friday for more details). So tonight feels like a comedy sketch starring me, my sofa, and a cup of coffee and chocolate!

Here’s how my Sunday evening usually plays out:

  • The Yawn Olympics: I start yawning around 3 p.m. and don’t stop until bedtime. If yawns were judged for style, I’d be a gold medalist.
  • The Chocolate Debate: “Do I need another bit chocolate?” The answer is always yes!
  • The To-Do List Thoughts: I start thinking about all the things I need to do this coming week, panic, try to convince myself there’s plenty of time, than try to decide Monday and the rest of the coming week can wait.
  • The Sofa Magnet: No matter how productive I plan to be, the sofa wins. Every single time.

At the end of the day, Monday will arrive whether we’re ready or not. So tonight we’re allowed to yawn, eat chocolate, and submit to the sofa’s gravitational pull.

Sunday evenings are the last gasp of the weekend before the week begins, the perfect excuse for one last bit of chocolate, and the reminder that sometimes the best way to prepare for Monday is simply try to forget tomorrow is Monday and try to laugh at how unprepared we feel to face the ever change priorities and challenges of a new week.

Good luck!
