Time with God #2 – When words don’t come

Some days we sit down to pray and words just don’t come. Our minds feel cluttered, our hearts feel tired and aching, and the silence feels awkward.

But here’s the truth – God is not waiting for perfect sentences. He’s waiting for us to give all that is in our hearts, to Him.

When we sit in His presence without words, we’re still with Him, and sometimes that’s the most honest prayer we can offer. God understands when our prayers are just sighs, tears, and understands our quietness better than we do.

Let your silence with God be a sanctuary, not a failure.

The Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.

Romans 8:26

The song ‘Rest’ by Matt Maher is a gentle invitation to breathe and let God hold what you can’t express.
