Earlier today on Bellshill Salvation Army Band’s Facebook page I shared some devotions. I’d like to share those devotions with you tonight.
He Is Risen — Love Has Won
On Easter morning, everything changes.
The stone is rolled away.
The grave clothes are left behind.
The silence of Friday and the stillness of Saturday give way to the unstoppable truth that Jesus is alive!
Christ has risen so the greatest declaration can be made — that love is stronger than death, stronger than sin, stronger than every darkness that tries to bury hope.
Easter is God’s loudest, clearest message: This is My gift of love — for you.
A Love That Poured Out
The resurrection only makes sense when we remember the cross. That’s why the words from Matt Redman’s song ring so true today:
Jesus Christ, I think upon Your sacrifice;
You became nothing, poured out to death.
Easter joy is born from Good Friday love. The empty tomb is the answer to a love that held nothing back. A love that stepped down, bent low, and gave everything.
Many times I’ve wondered at Your gift of life,
And I’m in that place once again…
Easter brings us back to that place – the place of wonder, the place of gratitude, the place where we realise again, just how costly, beautiful, and generous God’s love truly is.
A Love That Awakens Our Response
As we reflect on the greatest gift from God, we are reminded that Easter invites us not just to remember God’s gift, but invites us to respond.
Not just in admiration, but through worship.
Not just by showing gratitude, but by committing.
Not just emotionally, but by being transformed.
The resurrection is not just something we celebrate, it is something that reshapes us, because when love this deep reaches us, we cannot stay the same.
A Love That Sings, Gift of Love
As we share the Easter Selection ‘Gift of Love’, we ask that as you listen to this music, you let it become your Easter prayer.
Hear the echoes of Redman’s song woven through the music: the awe, the gratitude, the wonder of a Saviour who gave everything and then rose in victory.
Let the music lift your heart.
Let it remind you that the story did not end at the cross. Let it carry you into the joy of the resurrection.
Christ Is Risen — Love Lives Forever
Today we celebrate the greatest truth the world has ever known:
Love lives.
Love reigns.
Love has the final word.
May the risen Christ fill your heart with hope, your life with purpose, and your spirit with the joy of His unending, unstoppable, incomparable gift of love.
He is risen.
He is risen indeed.
