One of the things I’ve had to pick-up on in the last couple of years, is doing our gardening. We used to have someone who came every 4 weeks to cut the grass, turnover the earth, weed and trim/cut the bushes when required. However 2 years ago he retired, so I have had to take on the gardening.
I should tell you at this point that I am no gardener – I don’t know the names of most plants or flowers, I often don’t know which plants/flowers are weeds and which are flowers! The good news is our neighbours on both sides of us know I’m no gardener, and are happy to advise me when I need guidance.
Today I had the day off work, and so I spent several hours this afternoon doing the first bit of gardening of this year. There were so many weed, and leaves leftover from winter that needed cleared up/tidied, but I managed to get more than I expected done…the only downside was that that was just part of he front garden! There’s still the rest of the front garden to complete, and then there’s the back garden!
At least I’ve managed to make a good start today. I plan to do some more of the front garden over the rest of this weekend. Thereafter, it’ll need to be just a little bit of time after I finish work, as the weather is meant to be dry and sunny for the next week.
I’ll complete work on the front and back gardens at some point, but I suspect it’ll be just in time to have to do it all again as the weeds will all have grown in the front garden again!
Happy gardening!
