A week to forgive

As the week draws to a close, we finally exhale.

Friday night has a way of slowing us down — the rush eases, the noise softens, and our hearts finally have space to listen.

And into that quiet, this simple, powerful verse speaks:

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Ephesians 4:32 (NIV)

It’s amazing how a single sentence can hold so much of the Christian life.

  • Kindness.
  • Compassion.
  • Forgiveness.

Three things we all need. Three things we all struggle to give.

Maybe this week someone irritated you, disappointed you, or hurt you. Maybe you’ve been carrying a small heaviness — not big enough to name, but heavy enough to linger. Or maybe you’ve been hard on yourself, replaying moments you wish had gone differently. But tonight, God invites you into something gentler.

  • Kindness that softens the edges.
  • Compassion that sees beyond the surface.
  • Forgiveness that frees both the giver and the receiver.

And the reason we can offer these things is simple:

  • because Christ has already offered them to us.

So as you settle into this Friday night, let His grace wash over the week behind you.

Let His forgiveness loosen the knots in your heart.

Let His compassion reshape how you see others — and how you see yourself.

And may you step into the weekend lighter, softer, and more aware of the kindness God is growing in you.
