He’s already there in your calling

Earlier today on Bellshill Salvation Army Band’s Facebook page I shared some devotions. I’d like to share those devotions with you tonight.

God doesn’t just call us — He prepares the way for us to walk in our calling.

One of the most comforting truths in Scripture is that God never asks us to step into something He hasn’t already stepped into first.

Your calling — whether it’s ministry, leadership, service, creativity, or simply showing up faithfully in your everyday life — is not something you have to figure out alone.

Before you ever sensed Him in our life.

Before you ever felt that stirring in our heart.

Before you ever wondered, “Could God really use someone like me?”

God was already ahead of us, shaping the path, opening the right doors, closing the wrong ones, and preparing the people we would meet along the way.

Think of Moses: God didn’t just call him — He went before him into Egypt.

Think of Esther: God didn’t just position her — He went before her into the king’s court.

Think of the disciples: Jesus didn’t just send them — He went ahead of them into every village, every heart, every moment.

Your calling is no different.

You may feel unqualified.

You may feel unsure.

You may feel like you’re stepping into something bigger than you can handle. But your calling is never about your confidence — it’s about His preparation.

If God has placed something on your heart, you can trust this:

  • He has already gone before you.
  • He is already working in the places you’re afraid to step into.
  • He is already preparing the conversations, the opportunities, the strength, and the grace you will need.

So walk forward with courage. Not because you have it all together, but because the One who calls you is already ahead of you, making a way.

To conclude our devotions we share ‘The Potter’s Hand’ – It’s gentle, prayerful, and deeply connected to calling and purpose, and has a clear message:

“Take me, mould me, use me, fill me.”
