There’s something about the last working week before time off that make the week feel very different. The week ahead is still full, still demanding, still stacked with tasks and deadlines — yet there’s a quiet thread of hope running through it. A finish line. A breath. A promise of rest waiting on the other side of Friday.
This week will be one of those weeks for me.
Work will be busy. The kind of busy that asks for focus, resilience, and a bit of determination. The kind of busy that reminds me how much I carry, how much I manage, and how much strength I’ve built over these past months. And yet, woven through the meetings, the projects, the emails, and the inevitable unexpected challenges, there’s the knowledge that I’m almost there. with Just a few more days of work to go.
Sometimes that’s all I need — a horizon, an end before a break.
It doesn’t make the workload lighter, but it does make the purpose clearer. I’m working toward rest. I’m working toward space. I’m working toward the chance to breathe deeply again.
So as Monday closes and the week begins to unfold, I take a moment to acknowledge how far I’ve come. I’ve handled long weeks before. I’ve navigated pressure, change, and challenge. I’ve shown up even when tired, even when stretched, even when life outside of work has been demanding too.
I’ll show up this week as well — but with the comfort of knowing that rest is coming.
Let this week be busy, but let it also be hopeful. Let it be full, but let it also be purposeful. And when Friday arrives, let it be a gentle exhale after a long climb.
I’m nearly there.
I encourage you if you also have planned leave coming up to remember to focus on the week ahead, and remind yourself that you can do this. You are nearly there.
