After weeks (and months) of moving quickly, thinking deeply, and carrying more than people realise. this week has allowed me to finally start exhaling. Being on annual leave has meant the pace has slowed just enough to notice God’s nearness again.
After a busy stretch for the last weeks, it’s easy to feel like all my energy has been poured out in a dozen directions. Work, conversations, responsibilities, the quiet weight of things I’ve still been processing — they’ve all taken their toll. But the beautiful truth is that God never asks us to run on empty. He invites us to rest, to breathe, and to remember that strength isn’t something we manufacture; it’s something He renews.
He restores my soul.
Psalm 23:3
Those few words have carried me through more weeks than I can count. It doesn’t say He might restore, or He occasionally restores — it says He does restore. It’s His nature. Restoration is not a reward for being strong; it’s a gift for being His.
So as I look to tomorrow, I’ll let it be a small act of trust. I’ll let the quiet be enough. I’ll let the stillness do its work. I’ll let God meet me in the space where I finally stop striving.
Whatever shape tomorrow takes for me, I will remember that I are held, I am seen, and I am allowed to rest.
And perhaps that’s the message you also need to hear — that restoration isn’t a distant hope but a present promise.
