Earlier today on Bellshill Salvation Army Band’s Facebook page I shared some devotions. I’d like to share those devotions with you tonight.
As another day begins, perhaps you’re still carrying the weight of a busy week, facing uncertainty, or wondering where God is in the middle of your circumstances.
The wonderful truth of the gospel is that God specialises in new beginnings.
There are moments in life when we feel lost. Lost in our worries. Lost in disappointment. Lost in the noise of the world around us. Yet the message of Jesus is one of rescue, restoration and hope. He comes looking for those who feel far away and gently invites them into His love and grace.
Psalm 40:3 says:
He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.
Psalm 40:3
When God changes a life, He doesn’t simply improve the old story. He writes a new one. He replaces fear with peace, guilt with forgiveness, and despair with hope. The result is a new song, not just on our lips, but in our hearts.
As members of The Salvation Army, we know that our testimony is often our most powerful witness. Each of us has our own story of God’s faithfulness. Each of us has our own “new song” to sing. And no matter how long we’ve been following Christ, His mercies are new every morning.
This morning, take a moment to reflect on all that God has done for you. Remember where He has brought you from. Thank Him for His saving grace. And if you’re still waiting for an answer to prayer, trust that the One who has carried you this far will continue to lead you forward.
Here’s the Salvation Army Liverpool Walton with ‘When I was lost (there is a new song)’. May its message remind you that none of us are beyond God’s reach, and that in Christ there is always a new song to sing.
