Better than we know ourselves

There are things about ourselves which only those closest to us know.

There are probably other things about us which only we ourselves know or are aware of.

Is it important that someone other than us knows all about us? Here’s some selected verses from Romans 8 (The Message) which may answer that question:

If we don’t know how or what to pray it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves.

I don’t know about you, but I find it very reassuring that someone else knows me better than me or those closest to me…I’m even more reassured by this because that person is God!

  1. Jesus taught the Lord’s Prayer, Paul taught groaning. I always wondered who was the Christian, Jesus or Paul, because they never agreed on anything.
