A few weeks ago while out one evening, we noticed in our location we had no connectivity on our mobile phones – no phone signal, no internet, no social media access etc. When we left that location, and connectivity was restored, I discovered I had several missed calls and messages. It turned out a friend had been trying to contact me.
When I contacted my friend, the first thing they said to me was, “Why didn’t you answer my calls or messages?” When I explained that where I was had no mobile phone signal, they were surprised, saying, “Where were you, cause there’s not many places you can’t get any signal these day?!”
I’m not always contactable and I can’t always reply when others try and speak to me. This got me thinking about how God is always available, and always listens when we ‘call’ him, no matter where we are or whatever the day or time.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.Joshua 1:9 (NIV)
