Let God’s love fall afresh

Earlier today on Bellshill Salvation Army Band’s Facebook page I shared some devotions. I’d like to share those devotions with you tonight.

Are you one of those people who makes one or more new year resolutions? Or have you been there, done that in the past, and now think they are a waste of time?

I’ve made new year resolutions in the past, but for a number of years now I haven’t made any resolutions. Not because there’s nothing I want to change or improve on in this new year, but because I personally find making long term targets for myself never work out. I do however find that setting short term targets are much more achievable for me, and I get less frustrated when I fail, but conversely I feel I’ve achieved something more often if I meet my targets.

Have you made any new year resolutions? Do you think you’re likely to achieve them? Do your new year resolutions include any resolutions about your relationship with God?

Maybe God’s never been part of your life; maybe you used to believe in Him but events or people have made you doubt and turn away from Him; or maybe you still believe in God’s existence but just haven’t taken that extra step to accept Him into your life. Whatever your current relationship is with God (if any), why not make a new start with Him this year and let God’s love Fall Afresh on you this year.

Spirit of the living God,
Fall afresh on me.
Spirit of the living God,
Fall afresh on me.
Break me, melt me, mould me, fill me;
Spirit of the living God,
Fall afresh on me.
