All we can be

Earlier today on Bellshill Salvation Army Band’s Facebook page I shared some devotions. I’d like to share those devotions with you tonight.

24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year – That’s a lot of time isn’t it! It’s also how much of our time we should be

  • living our lives for God; and
  • giving Him our all.

The good news is we’re not on our own, as during every second of our lives, God is with us to help and to guide us. God has given each of us gifts that He knows we can use, but are we using them in the way He wants?

In the last week the words of All That I Am have been in my mind, and they have challenged me again to consider

  • Have I given God every part of me?
  • Am I using every gift, every talent God has given me?
  • Do I accept the tasks God asks me to do, no matter what?

My honest answer to these questions has to be, ‘No’. However by acknowledging my failings, I know God will help me to give Him my all, and accept whatever plan He has for me.

All that I am, all I can be, all that I have,
All that is me, accept and use, Lord,
As you would choose, Lord, right now, today.
Take every passion, every skill,
Take all my dreams and bend them to your will.
My all I give, Lord,
For you I’ll live, Lord, come what may.

It’s not too late to give God your all, so that you too can live your live for Him 24/7, 365 days a year. When you give Him your all, Him will help you use your skills and your talents to fulfil His plan for your life.
