I think it’s fair to say, we’d all like to live healthy, happy and successful lives. That’s probably why, even although we know being a Christian doesn’t mean we are guaranteed a happy, healthy or successful life, we can sometimes become discouraged when life is hard, and the plans we thought God had for us either don’t seem to be coming to fruition or don’t seem to be good for us.
It’s at times like these that we need to take a step back from what we’re facing, and feeling, and remind ourselves of God’s promises to us.
So in a series of posts I will share some verses from scripture which I hope will you will find helpful as they aim to remind us that God plans to provide for our welfare, our future, and give us hope.
In this post, I want to share a reminder of God’s plan to give us hope – Hope that death is not the end for us because we believe in Him.
Death of a loved on can be incredibly difficult for everyone. However for those who believe in God, although we grieve when a loved one dies, we rejoice in the knowledge that they are now at with God, and we will be reunited with them when our days on earth are numbered.
But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 (NIV)
Because of Christ, God has given us everything we need in life, and will continue to provide for us until the day we see him face to face.
Even if you do find yourself going through difficult times, God still has a plan for you. Remember that because of Jesus, God has provided a way for us to live the life he created us to live, to glorify and honour Him forever – I believe that is a good plan for us.
Thank you Dorothy once again for your though & choice of song
