God has plans for us #8

I think it’s fair to say, we’d all like to live healthy, happy and successful lives. That’s probably why, even although we know being a Christian doesn’t mean we are guaranteed a happy, healthy or successful life, we can sometimes become discouraged when life is hard, and the plans we thought God had for us either don’t seem to be coming to fruition or don’t seem to be good for us.

It’s at times like these that we need to take a step back from what we’re facing, and feeling, and remind ourselves of God’s promises to us.

So over a series of posts I will share some verses from scripture which I hope will you will find helpful as they aim to remind us that God plans to provide for our welfare, our future, as well as giving us hope.

In this post, I want to share a reminder from God that has promised that His work in you will one day be complete.

There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears.

Philippians 1:6 (The Message)

I try to follow God’s plan for my life, but sadly I often fail God, usually because I either don’t fully trust Him, or I don’t listen to Him. When we put our trust fully in God, He will continue to work in our lives, guiding us and directing Him. Like every plan we make, there is an end to God’s plan for us, and as the above verse in Philippians says, the end to God’s plan for us is when we meet Jesus face to face.

Because of Christ, God has given us everything we need in life, and will continue to provide for us until the day we see him face to face.

Even if you do find yourself going through difficult times, God still has a plan for you. Remember that because of Jesus, God has provided a way for us to live the life he created us to live, to glorify and honour Him forever – I believe that is a good plan for us.
