Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.
Matthew 6:34 (The Message)
On first look, these words from Matthew’s gospel on the surface seem really positive and reassuring. However when in the midst of suffering from fear and self-doubt about your life, or your circumstances, today, trying to find reassurance for tomorrow may seem an eternity away!
When suffering from self-doubt and fear, you tend to be focusing on the here and now, wanting your present-time to improve, before you can even consider thinking about tomorrow.
But those words in Matthew are not just about trusting God for tomorrow, but also about what God is actually doing for us right now, today! So we should feel reassured that God is working in our lives right now, even when we think He is ‘missing’.
God is with us always, even when we’re in the middle of a storm of life.
