Have you ever wondered how these words in Isaiah could possibly apply to you, because you feel you don’t have the skills to speak. God however has other ideas, as He will look at each one of us, see our potential and then show us what we are capable of. I have to say, that sounds really scary doesn’t it, when you don’t see any usable skills that God can use.
God however is always commissioning people to do his work. He’s commissioning you and me today – If you have doubts about that, think about Jesus’ words in John 20:21 – “As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” Jesus seeks willing disciples who will use whatever resources are at their disposal to carry out his purposes. So have a think about your skills, your gifts from God. Even if you think that’s a very short list it doesn’t matter, because when you take those skills/gifts to God, He will help you to use them to help those in need who are around you.
