Stepping into 2 weeks of rest

There’s a different kind of satisfaction that comes at the end of a week like this one — not just relief, but a genuine sense of achievement. It’s been a particularly productive few days, the kind where long‑standing tasks finally get ticked off, outstanding pieces of work are wrapped up, and I’ve closed things down knowing I’ve done everything I possibly could before stepping away.

Tonight, that moment arrived. My out of office is officially on. I’ve signed out of my work laptop and closed it down. My work phone is switched off too — no notifications, no pings, no reminders of the never‑ending project list. Just silence. Just space. Just the beginning of two whole weeks that belong entirely to rest.

There’s something wonderfully freeing about it. After such a long stretch since my last annual leave of more than a couple of day, where it’s been particularly busy and productive, the shift into holiday mode feels even sweeter. TI’m hoping the pace will now slow, while my mind hopefully begins to clear. My to‑do list will hopefully also fade into the background. And as for the next two weeks, my hope is simple: not to think about work at all.

Maybe these days will be filled with little adventures, or maybe they’ll be beautifully quiet. Maybe they’ll bring moments of joy, or simply the calm of having nowhere I need to be. Whatever they hold, they’re mine — a chance to recharge, reset, and breathe without deadlines chasing me.

So tonight, let my rest begin. Let the week fall away. Let the productivity give way to peace and rest.

Here’s to two weeks of switching off, slowing down, and finding the kind of restoration not only do I need, but hope it lasts.
