Earlier today on Bellshill Salvation Army Band’s Facebook page I shared some devotions. I’d like to share those devotions with you tonight.
As we go through another week, it is easy to become overwhelmed by tomorrow’s concerns, unanswered questions, and the challenges that lie ahead. Yet the beautiful message of “Sufficient For Today” by the Sydney Staff Songsters reminds us that God never asks us to carry tomorrow’s burdens today.
Jesus said:
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Matthew 6:34
God’s grace is not given months in advance. His strength is not provided for problems we have not yet faced. Instead, He faithfully supplies exactly what we need for this moment, this day, this step of the journey.
When we look too far ahead, fear can grow. When we focus on God’s presence today, faith grows. The Lord who has brought us safely this far will continue to lead us, one day at a time.
Whatever today holds, know that God’s love is sufficient, His mercy is sufficient, and His strength is sufficient. We can trust Him not only for our future but for the opportunities, challenges, and blessings that this very day brings.
Before we share Sydney Staff Songsters singing ‘Sufficient For today’, we share a prayer with you.
Lord, help us to trust You for today. Keep us from being distracted by tomorrow’s worries and remind us that Your grace is always enough. Give us strength for our tasks, courage for our challenges, and hearts that rest securely in Your care. Amen.
One day at a time with Jesus is enough, because one day at a time with Jesus is never alone.
